Review

I love poetry, reading it and writing it. So when I was asked to review this book I didn't really give it much thought, a simple yes sprung to mind.

It was easy to enjoy these poems. Now I don't mean enjoy in the sense that they were happy go lucky and made you smile. Because that they weren't. They were powerful, moving, and you could feel the emotion. And to me that is what a good poem is about. Something that makes you feel.

This woman's path becoming a widow was heart wrenching. You could feel it when she spoke about her first night after death. Or her son's car ride home.

I don't think this book is for everyone. But I do think it could be a good book for individuals who are coping with death ... if simply to see that others feel these emotions too and they are still normal, and moving in the right direction.

I felt honored to have been asked to review this book because turning each page made it obvious I was looking into the soul of the widow who wrote this collection.

I give this book 4 stars.
