Book Blogger Hop - Take 5

May 17th - 23rd: What is your guilty pleasure read?

Hmmmm this is a hard one. I don't think I have a 'guilty pleasure' but I do have a book that I turn to when I really am down or just need a guaranteed good read. Dark Paradise by Tami Hoag.

First off Tami Hoag has been my favorite author for YEARS. Probably pushing an easy 15 years to be exact. This story of hers was first published in 1994. It is about an ex-court reporter Marilee Jennings and this cowboy, J.D. Raferty.

I love J.D. Every cowboy I read about in books I compare to him. He is a hard man to break down but once you get to his soft spot, you won't turn back.

  3. I've read her Oak Knoll series, set in the 80's, which I enjoyed, I'll have to try some of her other books, starting with Dark Paradise :)

Can't say I'm a huge cowboy fan but i'm sure if he looked like Tim Riggins, i'd let him lasso me up any day.

    1. I joined your blog under GFC - but you know the multicultural you are pushing for, you might really like my Blood Series. I'm re-releasing them the first week of July. It's about vampires from Lebanon. They have to migrate to the states due to some family drama. The 'vampire' aspect is very secondary, it is much more about the family dynamics. The main characters are brother and sister, they each end up with love interests but the books are focused on their two stories not the 'lovers' story. Myself, I'm Lebanese and wanted to bring the Middle East into a very popular genre.

Ahhhh.....cowboys!! LOVE 'em!! Especially when they tilt their hats back and look deep into your eyes....

Anyway, I've seen Tami Hoag's books in bookstores and Walgreens pharmacies, but have never picked one up. Now I see that I've been missing out! Gotta do something about that!

Thanks for sharing, and Happy Reading!! :)
