THE NIGHT OF ELISA COVER-complete-w-small

Blurb:
Sometimes, life and love can follow the most obscure paths, just as they did for Elisa.
Her life becomes a dark, cold, lonely cage the day the Devil takes her as his wife. He takes away almost everything she holds dear: her health, her wealth and what is left of her family.
Trapped between the nuances of life and beyond-life, Elisa finds herself struggling for a better tomorrow. With her health deteriorating, how will she summon the courage and strength to stand her ground? And how far will she go in the pursuit of a dream?
Embark with Elisa on this puzzling Gothic adventure set in the late Victorian era, between the world of the Living and the picturesque, melancholic Duskland.

(Chapter I – The XIIIth Hour at Duskland)
‘Elisa’ calmed and the struggle was over. How dare she speak of me like I’m already dead? I know these faces… Father Johannes was throwing holy water over her bed and chanting in Latin.
“E-l-i-s-a i-s b-a-c-k!” a loud voice echoed in the room for all to hear. Quentin was very surprised. “She is back! Father Johannes, how is it possible?”
Father Johannes’ voice was frail. He was a short, gibbous man with an aquiline nose and big, deep eyes. “God the almighty never betrays us, my son!” He raised the wooden cross with his right hand.  “Whatever evil was holding her from life –from death – is here no more!” He came closer to Quentin, reaching for his ear. “She is strong, my son! Keep pretending until the last moment. We don’t want it to happen, but if she survives we don’t want her to tell anyone about what we did.”
“If she survives it will be for a very short time. I will take care of her once and for all, Father!” Quentin pretended he was seeing a miracle from the seven heavens. His young wife back from the dead! How was it possible? We did everything we could, but you persisted… “Elisa, my dearest, you’re alive! You live! You have come back to us!” Quentin continued, admiring that she had endured so much.

“I am not a writer, neither is writing one of my passions, on the contrary; I see it as a necessary evil! I like to say I am an illustrator and storyteller.
I was born and raised in Brazil and since 2009, been living in Norway with my best-half. I work as illustrator and graphic designer from my home-office, in slippers and comfy clothes. (Would really prefer PJs, but here and there someone knocks on the door!)
Love Heavy Metal, Fantasy and Dark Fantasy and most forms of visual arts.”

Character interview to Ashley’s World (Memories in a box)
Ashley’s World has done a short interview with character Leonhard from “The Night ofElisa”, a Gothic/paranormal novella written and illustrated by Isis Sousa.
This interview may contain spoilers!
1 – Leonhard, can you introduce yourself to the readers; tell a bit more about your life and what you do?
Leo: Hmm… Hell-o Living ladies and gentleman, readers of Ashley’s World! I live in a world far away from yours, where it is always cold, but not too cold and the skies are always red, where the birds have ceased singing and the wind has never blown. I’m a painter with a fascination for human anatomy, the darker traits of human mind and oh, dear… This is basically it.
2 – When did you start painting? Can you tell us more about your art?
Leo: Oh, that was… long ago… Several centuries ago in the time of The Living. I had a master called Dürer and he taught me how to craft my oils, brushes and prepare the canvas and the wood as well as rules on perspective, composition and he always helped me with my studies of anatomy. My art, it is… changing… I always had a fixation for this particular… subject. Graziella. But now… Things are different…
3 – When you’re not painting, what other things you like to do? Do you have any hobbies?
Leo: I love reading a good book. I read every single night in my lonely bed. Did I just say lonely bed?! Oh dear, these – interviews – can lure you into revealing too much of yourself!  I like to help my beloved friends Gerania and Iphigenia on preparing the meals in my humble mansion. I like to stroll alone every late evening and I like to savor a certain red drink from times to times.
4 – What’s the most important thing in Death for you?
Leo: In my first Death or second Death? Well, in my present Death, apart from my art… I’d say my best friends, the memories of Graziella and… She. The most delicate soul I ever touched, the most beautiful and mysterious pair of eyes, the reddest lips, the silkiest skin, the finest little hands, the most enchanting voice, the purest blood, my darling, myElisa.
5 – What’s your favorite band?
Leo: Is this some kind of joke!? There was no such thing as “bands” in the time of the story! But if you will, my dear… Those I identify myself most with are Therion, Paradiselost andTristania and some other dark music.
6 – Thank you Leonhard! It was a pleasure talking to you. Any last words for our readers? How can fans come in touch with you?
Leo: No last words, no goodbyes, please! The pleasure was all yours… Ops, I mean, mine! Thank you for your interest in my naïf life and for the delightful chat. Tell your readers they can get in touch with me when they knock at the door of the Afterlife. Hope to see them anytime soon! ^.^
