MICHELE WOLFE
Adjusted Headshot
Growing up between the Rocky Mountains and the city of Denver in Colorado, gave me a life-long love of both. I suspect my experiences were similar to others my age in the 70s and 80s; summers in one-piece bathing suits; bicycle riding without a helmet; vacationing in the family station wagon; skiing down the local mountains. I am the youngest of three girls and lucky enough to be supported by friends and a loving extended family.
I loved drama, singing, gymnastics and ice skating. And I was never without a good book, no matter where I went. Soon after finishing college and becoming a teacher, I decided I wanted to explore the world. I took long road trips, spent time at Martha's Vineyard, and fell in love with the ocean and California, which eventually became my home. Four years after moving to Los Angeles, I discovered two things that changed my life. My husband was the first. We fell in love hard and fast. Twenty-two years later, we are fully, after a lot of hard work, co-dependent and co-evolved, and very happy about both. The second discovery was a passion for teaching adults English as a Second Language in a poor immigrant community in East L.A. I'm still there, too. My husband and I have two handsome sons, Caleb Justus and Joshua William. They are our pride and joy. Caleb is in the Army and Joshua is finishing high school. And I should mention our 'girl' Sophie, who loves running to and fro on our walks, dancing in the kitchen, her tail-wagging in joy. Being a busy teacher, mother and wife made finding time to write a challenge. When I started my first novel, there was no space in our little home to write except at the kitchen table. I diligently carved out time on the weekends and eventually took my laptop to coffee shops and writers' groups to finish it. When writing, I let the story and characters come to me in their own time, in their own way. I am inspired by music and art, which often influence a scene or a conversation in my stories. I hope my writing inspires others and makes people think and feel. And of course be entertained. I am working on my next novel, also about a work of art, this time a painting at the Museum of Modern Art in Rome.

LYNETTE ENDICOTT
Adjusted Headshot
Lynette Endicott grew up in Illinois, met her husband in Western Nebraska, lived 25 years in Kansas where their daughter was born, and has been in Fresno, California since 2000. She has a son-in-law (who lives with her daughter nearby), and has rescued a dog, a bird and three cats. She and Ollie, her terrier mix, volunteer as a team at the local library, where children read to the dog. At a youth camp when she was 14 the editor and teacher of a writing class challenged her to submit something to his youth magazine. She did and it was the first of 10 articles and stories accepted by the publication over the next few years. Nothing like front end success to keep her writing! Lynette enjoys reading contemporary romance and speculative fiction and writes both. Her debut book, Starting Over Book One: More Than A Job, and two more books in that series, The Return of Joy and Finding Her Voice are available now. The first three of the Time After Time Saga with Tami Dee are available now, including Animal Instinct, Survival Instinct and Pioneer Instinct. The fourth in the series of six, Protective Instinct, will release in August 2014. Because she didn't have pets until after her 50th birthday the animals she enjoys find their way into all her books. Usually you will also find a character with a disability as part of the day to day fabric of the story. In More Than A Job, Paige works in services to people with disabilities until she loses her job and starts over. In The Return of Joy, Atlas, the yellow lab, becomes a Therapy Dog. In the Time After Time series animal helpers assist the hero and heroine in all six of the books in the series.

-
DEBRA PARMLEY
Adjusted Headshot
Debra is a multi genre author born in Columbus, Ohio and raised in Springfield, OH. She has lived just outside Memphis, TN since 1997. Debra attended Marywood University in Scranton, PA and was the first student to win first place in two categories of the Delta Epsilon Sigma Beta Epsilon Chapter writing competition, in creative prose and in informal expository. Her poetry was published in literary journals while attending college. She holds a BA in English Literature. When she graduated she asked her academic advisors which genre she should concentrate on. None of them would advise her because she showed strength in each area. Advice at the time and for many years afterward was to concentrate in one area and to focus on one genre. But only she could decide which one.
In 2012, Debra decided this was not working for her and forged her own path. This meant writing in more than one genre and working on more than one manuscript. She no longer believes in writers block. She believes in finding joy in the act of writing and in allowing her muse to play. For Debra, writing is about joy. Today she teaches Creative Writing classes locally, passing on what she has learned and finding the joy in teaching as well. Debra traveled and worked as an independent travel consultant. She has visited thirteen countries. She has worked in banking, newspaper advertising, as recycling cocoordinator for the City of Bartlett, as an office manager, and as a belly dance instructor. When not writing, Debra enjoys dancing, history, primitive archery and medieval reenactment, travel, yoga and meditation. It is one of her greatest pleasures to hear from her readers.

-
LM PRUITT
Adjusted Headshot
LM.Pruitt has been reading and writing for as long as she can remember. A native of Florida with a love of New Orleans, she has the uncanny ability to find humor in most things and would probably kill a plastic plant. She knows this because she's killed bamboo. Twice. As a result, she's not allowed to walk in the gardening department of any store without supervision. She's also not allowed in the card aisle of any grocery without an escort since she'll spend thirty minutes opening cards and laughing for no good reason. She continues to make her home in Florida in spite of the heat and mosquitos and shares her home with two cats. One of them smart, the other not so much.

-
AMY L. GALE
Adjusted Headshot
Romance author by night, pharmacist by day, Amy Gale loves rock music and the feel of sand between her toes. She attended Wilkes University where she graduated with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. In addition to writing, she enjoys baking, scary movies, rock concerts, and reading books at the beach. She lives in the lush forest of Northeastern Pennsylvania with her husband, six cats, and golden retriever.

JENNIFER SILVERWOOD
Adjusted Headshot
Jennifer Silverwood was raised deep in the heart of Texas and has been spinning yarns a mile high since childhood. In her spare time she reads and writes and tries to sustain her wanderlust, whether it's the Carpathian Mountains in Transylvania, the highlands of Ecuador or a road trip to the next town.
After attending three different universities without managing to square a degree, she decided to the next logical thing; become a writer. Always on the lookout for her next adventure, in print or reality, she dreams of one day proving to the masses that everything really is better in Texas. She is the author of the Heaven's Edge series, Stay and Silver Hollow.

LAUREN MARIE
Adjusted Headshot
LaurenMarie spent years writing and dreaming of being published. After spending many years wanting to write the ultimate thriller and become the next Le’Carre, Clancy, or Turow, she decided to try romance. She admits, with a huge smile, she’s never had so much fun. Lauren lives with her four cats in Western Washington State. When she isn’t pounding the keys, she is an amateur paranormal investigator. She formed her own group in 2006 to hunt ghosts and some unusual experiences have put in an appearance in some of her stories. Lauren is currently working on a contemporary romance called the Canon City Series.

JILLIAN HART
Adjusted Headshot
Jillian grew up on her family's homestead on Washington state, near Carnation, Washington, where she raised cattle to pay for her college tuition, rode horses through the pristine foothills of the Cascade Mountain range and scribbled stories in her spare time.
After earning an English degree from Whitman College (what better way to go through college than to constantly read books?), she traveled, worked in advertising, taught Sunday school and volunteered before becoming a writer. When she's not hard at work on her next story, Jillian can be found chatting with a friend, stopping for a café mocha with a book in hand, and spending quiet evenings at home with her family.

LARA NANCE
Adjusted Headshot
Lara Nance grew up and lived in many cites throughout the South. She loves to write in a variety of genres, but the basis of all of her stories is a great tale that will take you on an adventure of imagination.
If you want to escape and lose yourself in a novel, you've come to the right place. Choose your genre and settle in to be entertained. From thrilling mysteries and steampunk tales to paranormal romance and adventure, she's willing to explore a variety of compelling stories full of danger and suspense, along with a touch of romance. Her first paranormal romance, Memories of Murder, won RWA's New England Chapter's readers' choice award in 2012 for Best Paranormal Romance, as well as an award of merit as Best Book from a Virginia Author in the Holt Medallion contest. In 2013, her novel DraculaVille - Discovery in New York, won the Rudy award for best novel with romantic elements. Lara's newest endeavor is under the name L.J.Nance, a children's book series titled: Lyra's Ocean World. The first book is out now: Lyra to the Rescue. The illustrator is Karen Webb. Most of Lara's books are in print, electronic and audio format, with others soon to follow. Having been on the fencing team in college and now living on a sailboat convinces her that she was a pirate in another life, or possibly kin to Errol Flynn... However, due to the unfortunate demise of the romantic pirates of the past, she lives out her fantasies, thrills and adventures in her stories. Lara loves to weave interesting true historical tidbits into her fiction which invite the reader to explore further after the novel is finished. Currently docked in Norfolk, Virginia (until the wind changes) Lara enjoys living on her sailboat and spends time reading, of course writing, indulging a variety of artistic endeavors, cooking and sailing with her husband, Joe and their Yorkie, Rio.
ANGELA KNIGHT
Adjusted Headshot
I have been writing erotic romance since 1996, when my first novella appeared in Secrets Vol. 2. In June, 2004, Jane's Warlord, my first novel, was published, followed by FOREVER KISS in July, 2004 the anthology HOT BLOODED in September, and MASTER OF THE NIGHT in October. MASTER OF THE MOON, my next book, hit the USA Today list for three weeks, much to my amazement. Since then I've been writing like a lunatic and having a wonderful time.
I've been married to a wonderful man for more than twenty years now. He's a senior investigator with our county sheriff's office. As a result, I know an awful lot of cops, which is one reason I love putting police procedural elements in my fiction. I also spent ten years as a reporter, which gave me a collection of war stories you would not believe. My husband Mike and I have one son, Anthony, who is in his twenties now.

We have prizes you'll love.

Fire & Ice Blog Tour Presents Giveaway: Falling for Leigh by Jennifer Snow

http://fireandicebooktours.wordpress.com/2014/08/15/sweet-romance-book-tour-giveaway-falling-for-leigh-by-jennifer-snow-9114-92914/

Blurb:

Can she be his cure for writer’s block?

For New York novelist Logan Walters, falling for the girl next door was more than a clichĂ©. It was a calamity! If Leigh Norris hadn’t been so attractive, and hadn’t been hammering relentlessly while he was trying to write, Logan would never have ascended her rickety ladder in a misguided mix of gallantry and frustration. And he wouldn’t have a broken wrist—or a guilty new assistant who can’t type. Clearly, his escape to the Brookhollow B and B was not going to be the quiet, idyllic retreat he needed to finish his overdue manuscript. But it was fast becoming much more interesting than expected….

See the book trailer on Youtube

Excerpt:

“I…uh…hired a typist.”
His agent snorted over the phone. “You’re lying.”
“No, really I did.” He and Leigh hadn’t exactly talked about payment, except for his brief mention of it at the haunted hike, but he certainly planned on compensating her for her time and help. Of course, he’d rather show her his gratitude in other ways, like taking her out on a real date, telling her how wonderful she was and helping to erase some of the pain in her past.
“From what agency?” Clive still sounded suspicious.
“No agency. She’s just a woman who lives here in Brookhollow, next door to the B and B.” It was such an understatement, Logan was almost embarrassed by the lie. But what could he tell Clive? That he was getting help from a woman he was falling in love with in the small town? Clive would for sure give up on him, thinking he’d lost his mind.
“Not the same woman who pushed you off a ladder?”
“Actually, yes.”
Clive laughed. “Wow, way to call in the guilt favor.”

Blurb:

In some worlds, there are monsters behind every catastrophe.

Tom lives in one of those worlds, and he is blessed, or cursed, to be able to see the monsters. He learns that the world is not supposed to be that way, and it is a symptom of the breakdown of Reality.

Sometimes, the world drafts you to save it.

Tom realizes that he and the people he gathers in his travels are supposed to fix the world. He doesn’t know how, and he doesn’t know why, but the fates are conspiring to make him a reluctant hero. Anyone that knew Tom would know that was not flattering, just inconvenient and idiotic. Tom suspected that he should be siding with the monsters.

What do you do when the Monster is in the mirror?

People around Tom have a habit of turning up dead. Some of the deaths he knows he had a hand in, and most of those deserved death, at least in some psychedelic lights. Others turn up dead, and Tom has no memory of it, but he does have a suspect; Himself.

If he repairs the world, will there still be a place in it for a monster like him?
Excerpt:
Something soft and pliable surrounded his face, and his hands were clutching the same sort of thing. Tom still smelled the aroma of Lavender. He opened his eyes, and looking up slightly, he saw the well proportioned navel in the black landscape that was Veritasia. His hands gripped her beautiful ass, and her legs were wrapped comfortably around him. Being properly positioned, he went in for a quick kiss on the lips that never speak.
This must have served for waking her up. The next few moments were taken up by the need to renew and reinforce some late night memories that they had created last night. Tom had always considered Halle Berry to be an ideal womanly body of sorts, but he would not have traded the acrobatics that he and Veritasia engaged in last night, even for Halle. If there was anything wrong with Halle’s body, it would be that her boobs were just slightly too big. Veritasia’s was perfect.
They had pulled into this rest stop for the night, and everyone had taken advantage of the opportunity to sleep. Tom had also taken advantage of the opportunity of trying for touching that irresistibly gleaming dark skin that was consuming his attention.
To his surprise, she had responded very positively to his advances. This came as a relief to Tom, as he had determined to have her, and he really didn’t want to have to clean up any loose ends afterwards. He also wasn’t sure how many others of the group would have become loose ends if they saw him dispose of her. All water under the bridge now. He could have his fun, and everybody got to live.
He went out to find whatever passed for a tourism building in this rest stop. He finally found it on the last path that he looked for it, and found that it had a map showing that the border of Arkansas was ten miles ahead, and at the border they would be treated to the great Metropolis of Paw Paw, Arkansas, population 812.
He returned to the RV, where he found that the womenfolk had banded together to brew a pot of coffee, cook an egg, bacon and toast breakfast, and gossip. He got a cup of the coffee and a plate of the breakfast. He also got a lingering kiss from Veritasia, fetching immediate glares from Sally and Charla. Tom wasn’t sure why Charla would be upset, but he decided to file it away for a rainy day.
Tom had a vague sense that a long time ago, this sort of situation would have been much more traumatic to him then than it was now. He had no memory of this, for the period was probably back more than the twenty year limit on his memories. Somewhere along the way, he had got the hang of being unconcerned by other people’s reactions to him or about him. You get more girls, you get less pain, and it makes disposing of loose ends a much simpler matter.
“Our next stop will be the wonderful Arkansas town of Paw Paw, which is one of the thousands of towns that has apparently popped up out of thin air.” Tom said to the group. “It seems to have replaced the city of Texarkana.”

Review

I want to first say that it has been very hard lately to keep me sitting on the couch not wanting to leave until I have completed the book. Ms. Haigwood did exactly that. I really loved this novel. The whole plot line and story kept me wanting more. I don't know whose story I want to read more, Josilyn's or Issah's or any ofthe other characters that I just met.

I really think this story was well balanced consideringhow many characters were inside of this. It was quite impressive.

I have a long line of TBR list but the following books are deff going to be added to it. I loved how this author did the first person vs third person in this novel. It was so well balanced. You can tell her craft has been fined tuned.

I really recommend this story to anyone who loves a good twist on religion and mythology. It was a very religious story yet didn't jam religion down your throat and I find that a very hard thing to accomplish.

I am giving this novel an easy 5 star rating because not only could I not put it down but it was so unique and in a class all of its own.

Guest Post: Giveaway: Massage Envy & Author Stacy A. Moran

One thing I love about my blog is getting to have guest posts. I even more enjoy when the guest post is from a friend. Today I welcome Stacy back to my blog. Most of you know Stacy and I are writing partners and the two of us venture out a lot together.

Today - She is doing something different. Instead of books or events Stacy is talking about an issue that is near and dear to her heart. So take a moment and read about her cause and see what you can do to help it.

Massage Envy is very kind to donate a giveaway with today's post. Anyone who leaves a comment stating they are already a member of my site or joins my site will be entered in a drawing for a chance to win a free massage!

What keeps me busy when not writing is my day job as the Business Manager at Massage Envy in Cypress Texas and tomorrow Wednesday September 17th, 2014 is our Fourth Annual Healing Hands for Arthritis Event.

The Arthritis Foundation and Massage Envy was a perfect fit and since the event launched our employees, members, and guests have raised over $2 Million for the foundation.

Just like every year since we have started the event $10.00 will be donated from each hour session performed on September 17th 2014. It is a perfect day to treat yourself to a spa day and help the Arthritis Foundation while you are at it.

Every clinic will have different events planned such as raffles, bakes sales, and silent auctions. Call your local spa for an appointment.

"When we launched Healing Hands for Arthritis three years ago, our goal was to bring arthritis to the forefront. Now in its fourth year, it has become part of our brand culture and has made a significant contribution toward research and the fight against arthritis," said Joe Luongo, chief operating officer of Massage Envy Spa. "None of these efforts would be possible without the ongoing support of our members and guests, which is why we encourage everyone to join us on Sept. 17 at our more than 1,000 clinics across the country for another great event."

Healing Hands for Arthritis™
For every one-hour massage or facial session performed during our one-day event, Massage Envy Spa makes a donation to the Arthritis Foundation. Over the last three years, our devoted employees and caring members and guests proudly raised over $2 Million through Healing Hands for Arthritis. With your help, we can raise even more. Join us for this year's Healing Hands for Arthritis event on September 17. Your massage or facial could help the many adults and children suffering from the disease find lasting relief.

Living with Arthritis
Arthritis is the leading cause of disability, reduced quality of life, and high health care costs in the U.S. Of the 46 million Americans who suffer from arthritis, nearly half say that arthritis limits their normal activities. The good news is that recent studies suggest that massage can help reduce pain and increase mobility in those who suffer from arthritis. At Massage Envy Spa, we offer a Massage Wellness Program to help cope with chronic arthritis pain.

Here are the different links you may need when booking your appointment or if you want to look up more on Arthritis.
